Djokovic reports positive fitness ahead of China Open return

Novak Djokovic says he is feeling physically good ahead of his return to competition at the China Open, according to a report by Dawn. The 39-year-old is playing his first event since a surprising first-round defeat at the US Open last month, where he struggled with shoulder and back issues and was sick during the match.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, the six-time China Open champion said he felt encouraged by his body's response in practice, though he noted match conditions are different. He said his strong record on Chinese soil gives him a needed boost of confidence.

Djokovic, currently ranked 11th in the world, will begin his campaign in Beijing against Portugal's Nuno Borges. The former world number one is a major attraction at the tournament, which he has won previously.
